On May 16, I wrote about a documentary called, Sun Come up : A Film about Climate Change Refugees. The New York Times also wrote an article about the same documentary. I believe it ties in well with my previous post about Shell and it's atrocious environmental and humanitarian practices.
Millions of people are likely to be displaced by climate change and it's in everyones interest to get our act together quickly.
PLEASE READ THE NEW YORK TIMES ARTICLE

Interesting. :)
This article let me immediately think of a series of articles about the ozon depletion / ozon hole I made in the early 90s.
Just two dots:
Hartmut Graßl, at that time Director of the May-Planck-Institute for Meteorology almost literary said: "One problem is that those [politicians] who decide today will not live long enough to see the effects of their decisons."
And I remember one scientist (basically) saying: "The rich countries will built higher dykes and think: that's it. Who cares for the islands in the South Seas?"

Well, the moon will survive. :)
And your photo, Nevin: beautiful.
Thanks Sean. :)
I sincerely hope the moon will survive even after the devastation of our beautiful earth as a result of bunch of selfish individuals out there who delude themselves into thinking that they are better then others... Or that they deserve to live and others do not....
Dear Nevin - I'll read those articles although I've already read so many about what's happening. Of course we've been selfish tru ignorance and greed. I also think that something is happening which is way beyond our control, and which is not our fault. That we want it or not, nature is in charge. Always has been. It's a bit arrogant to believe that we can change what it wants to do. But of course we must not remain passive, and must do all we can to save energy, and not continue to deplete the planet.
Sorry, I couldn't say this in just a few lines. I'm trying hard to cut down in lenght of comments as I do in using my hydro. It's hard in both ways.:)
Your photos are always so beautiful. Thank you! You could do many fascinating posts just sharing all of them with us. Best wishes to you and family.:)
THe islanders are in a grim situation. I shudder to think what will happen when large chunks of Bangladesh become uninhabitable
Very nice photograph.
Climate change can't be tackled, as long as profits are to be made, by cost savings. Only a planned economy can solve the problem.
Claudia, very true.... our arrogance and selfish attitude that got us here and it has to be our awareness and compassion that has to get us out of it as well....
By the way, thank you for your kind words about my photos... :) So nice to know you are enjoying them....
Jams, I totally agree with you! I dread to think it as well....
Ren, yes.... something has to be done.... somehow!
I am glad you like the last breaths of the sun.... so do I... :)
