Schools are out due to Easter for about 12 days… I love breaks as it gives both my kids and me time to recuperate and energize from our hectic lives. I thought I would take this time to visit friends and family in Boston.
This Saturday night, I made plans to go to my favorite seafood restaurant, The Daily Catch, situated in the Italian district of Boston (The North End). It is your typical family run restaurant. When you get seated, the owner usually greets you with a huge smile and chats to you causally like you are family. The seafood is just amazing and of course the red wine selection is to die for. My favorite dish is the classic pasta with lobster, calamari, clams, scallops, shrimp and mussels, cooked in a wonderful red sauce.
When you walk in, do not expect much ambiance as it looks kind of dull but people do not line outside for the appearance but rather for the food and the family feel to it. I am not kidding, even in 20 F, the line can be long. I have known to wait up to half hour in the freezing cold.
Here is a link to The Daily Catch. If your path ever crosses the North End in Boston, make sure to visit this amazing restaurant. A little warning, you cannot make reservations a head of time, so expect to wait outside. But hey, it might be a great way to meet some Bostonians.
A little tip: After your wonderful diner, pop over to Caffe Vittoria right across the street and have their wonderful Italian Coffee and taste their mouth watering deserts. One needs to digest, right!
For those of you who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter!
As for me, I will be stuffing myself with great food and red wine….
